Ocean Blanket - Large Limited Edition Linocut Print

A large linocut print hand printed onto heavyweight Acid Free paper.
Each is signed and numbered.

The prints were inspired by working with oceanographers at Schmidt Ocean Institute to understand and visualise elements of their research. Here, different species of coral are mapped along with the topography of the sea floor in order to record coral growth since the ice ages.

Linocut printing involves carving into a block of linoleum, before rolling this in different inks and rolling it through a press to transfer the image to paper. An image of the block can be seen here too.

These prints have only been made in a first proof printing . As such there are currently just 4 of these available as 'AP' prints, each with subtley different textures/ border sizes.

The print in the photographs is the one that you will receive but feel free to enquire if you're curious about the others.
